Ad Code Scam on TikTok
Turn Off These Two Settings or Lose Your Commissions
They run your video, swap your product links, and collect your commissions. Also, tikTok’s default settings can make this possible unless you change them now. Next, scammers are using the “ad code” trick to hijack TikTok Shop affiliate links.
The leak
- Affiliate Product Change Authorization — lets other users modify which products your videos promote. If left enabled, your affiliate links can be swapped without notice.
- Anchor Authorization — lets others attach their own products beneath your videos. You might promote a $25 item, while they tag a $200 one and collect the payout.
Fix it fast
- Open your TikTok Creator or Shop account settings.
- Locate Affiliate Product Change Authorization and switch it off.
- Find Anchor Authorization and switch it off.
- Only share your ad code with clear written terms or a verified fee agreement.
Protect your income path
- Get written consent for collaborations before granting access.
- Never allow third-party product tagging rights on your posts.
- After each collab, confirm your clicks, orders, and GMV in the affiliate dashboard.
